Engine Light
I have a 2000 323i, the egine light was coming on/off intermintely. I had the code read and it was cyclinder #3 miss-firing. I had changed the plugs this summer with OEM.
My question is, what could be wrong, foule plug, coil or injector? Any pointer will be appreciated. Also, this problem happens when it's really cold (16F or below). Gorgey |

Make sure you properly torqued the plugs. Without a torque wrench I would not have installed my plug tight enough. There was a resistance point during the tightening that I would have stopped at, but once I turned past it it became easier again then finally hit the torque mark.
I would remove and reinstall the plugs just incase. Did you use any plug anti-seize? It makes achieving proper torque more accurate. I use a very very light coat. How about a fouled injector or a bad coil? I think the coils are interchangable, maybe swap #3 coil with another and see if the problem moves. Techron is generally the accepted best injector cleaner.
