Unhappy Trans slipping in D on cold start....03/325XI

When pulling out in the AM from a cold start, shifting into R is slow. When shifting into D the trans is not engaged and the motor revs to 3k. after backing off it jumps in. is it slipping??? Some Friends have said it is called "delay shift".

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Surely you are still under warranty. I would take it to the dealer. You dont want to mess with the automatic tranny especially while you are under warranty.
