Right Side Turn Indicator won't turn off

Hi guys,
I am a newbie and it's my first thread.
My car is E46 year 99 318i. Sometime last week I purchased Euro tail lights from ebay and I installed without problems. The day after, I found the right side parking light came on even though the switch is in neutral position. I then turn the engine on and the parking light came off but the right side signal indicator (flasher) came on, without the stick being moved. Nothing I could do would stop this other than pushing the stick to have the left hand side flash; but the moment it was released, back came the right hand flashing. I then swap the taillights back to the original ones but it still at fault. I would think the ebay tailights causes something electrical damage to my car.
Most people in the forums said that it was the relay, but I don't know where the flasher relay is located. Also, if it was the relay then the flasher won't even turned on would it?
Could anyone help me on this one please as I don't want to spend crazy dollars the dealer would charge me.
Thanks

This sounds very odd. This is not a problem I would take to a dealer. Dealer mechanics are usually not good at electrical problems.

I think that something is introducing a ground somewhere that should not be grounded, but I am having a hard time reconciling all these symptoms to a single problem.

If it were me, I would get the lighting wiring diagram from the Bentley manual and start systematically going through the lighting circuits with a volt/ohm meter.

If that is outside your area of expertise, then I suggest finding a shop that specializes in auto electrical problems. They will find the problem a LOT quicker than the dealer. The dealer will likely just start at one end of the circuit and replace every part until it works again.
