Poor accelleration

Okay fellas.

I am new to the BMW 3 series. Had my 2003 BMW for a month. Absolutely love the car. Last night when driving everything was fine. This morning when I went to drive the car I had problems. When I go to pull off and push down on the gas pedal, the car barely moves or moves slowley. After it gets to moving it runs fine but no real accelartion when you push down on the gas pedal. I looked and for the first time my "service engine soon" light was on.

Whenever I go to pull off it is like my wheels are spinning on ice and barely moving the car. But do not get me wrong, once the car is moving I can drive normally, but as I stated no fast acceleration. When I switch the car into nuetral while it is moving and push down on the gas peddal the engine revs up with no problem

Can someone point me in the right direction because as I stated I am new to all of this

Thanks in advance

Get the codes form the CEL (service/check engine light).

Could be low tranny fluid. (moderately complicated to check)
Bad torque convertor
Bad tranny

Do you usually run out of gas? Could be the injectors are a little bit clogged. I am experiencing something similar with my car. The injectors get clogged when there are impurities in the gasoline or the fuel filter and when the car is sometimes run out of gas it could extract those impurities from the bottom of the fuel tank. I bought from amazon a bottle of Techron injector cleaner from Chevron. I will test it as soon I receive this bottle.

Running low on gas is bad on the pump. The pump draws from the bottom of the tank and the movement of the car keeps everything stirred up, so running it low will not introduce a hidden cache of debris.

If you by Techron make sure its says Techron on the bottle. Chevron makes other fuel system cleaner without Techron.

Fellas:

I had the codes read and it stated two: 1. rich or lean air/fuel ratio inengine bank 2 possibly caused by Bank 2, O2 sensor 1. the other said 2-3 shift malfunction. the last code said misfire with low fuel. However, I had over a half of a tank at the time of testing

Interesting. The car accellerates sluggishly pulling off from a dead stop and going up a hill. It is like I am pulling off in third or fourth gear. Also, if you throw the car in nuetral it really reves up and the needle really moves. But once the car is moving it does pretty good. Also, I noticed that when it is in reverse gear there is no sluggishness at all it is really powerful like nothing is wrong.

Any help please. Do you guys think it is an 02 sensor, tuneup or what. I hope and pray it is not a tranny problem
