Error Codes
Hi guys,
I own a BMW 3 series 2002 model that I have been using for about 2 years now. The Check Engine Light came on recently and it gave me the follwoing Error Codes 1. 06 - Fuel Injector, Cylinder #1 2. F3 - Misfire Detected, Cylinder #6 3. F5 - Secondary air System too low, Cylinder #1-3 4. F6 - Secondary air System too low, Cylinder #4-6 It will be appreciated if you can shed more light on this. Thanks |

Oh!! and by the way, the car seems to run fine, no jerking or stalling just the pesky 'check engine Light' that comes on.

Just change to coil in number 6 and see what you get after a reset. Sometimes just a bad coil can throw a bunch or wacky stuff.

I would swap coils around and see if the misfire moves.
The secondary air is that fan that looks like a vacuum cleaner motor. It should start and run for a couple of minutes after a cold start. They use cheap bushings rather than bearings in the electric fan motor. so they don't last forever. Check to make sure that it is getting 12 volts after a cold start before replacing the fan. The relay could have failed. |
