eccentric shaft sensor code P1017 problem after replacement

Just replaced a eccentric shaft sensor in a 2006 330i ,cleared all codes ,but the code comes back solid p1017 and the car would NOT start up right away , after it did start and was running took out for 10 mile test , ran perfect , but the code keeps coming back , and some times will not start , found out if I take key fob out lock doors and unlock then it starts up and runs fine ,no check engine lite, but pending code p1017 is always there. should I take the wire harness all apart and check or??? thanks
