Error codes back again

Good day, I have a 07 335xi twin turbo with 148,000 mi. The check engine and service enging lights came on in that order. I had the vanos both changed as that was what the dealer said was wrong. The lights stayed on. Next I had them change both cam sensors and crank sensor. Lights still came back on. After spending almost $2k I just drove the car under reduced power. After about 375 miles both lights went off. The car ran great and all of a sudden the check engine came on when the temp gauge hit 250 deg. I would stop the car and let it cool down. Restart the car and no check engine was on until the car hit 250 deg again. The dealer replaced the thermostat thinking the temperature was causing the light to come on. It did not fix the problem. This would happen all the time. Now both lights are on again and will not go off at all. Now im hearing a clanging noise when I cold start it. Goes away after less than a minute. There is also a whineing sound commimg from the motor at highway speeds. The noise slows down as the car slows down. Cant keep giving this dealer $$ and not get the problem resolved.
