525i Power Problem

My problem--With excessive power demand on the electrical system, the engine loses power as if its running out of fuel. For example; if I turn the A/C on and the blower on full, the vehicle loses engine power and will not go. Engine runs still, but acts as if out of fuel. If I turn the blower down to low, engine recovers immediatly. It acts the same if heater is on with the lights and wipers, or just fog lights and headlights, with radio and wipers.

I tested the alternator output and checked ok. I replaced alternator anyway. Checked all body and electrical grounds to eliminate power back-feed problem.

Any Ideas??

Do you have any custom stereo equipment in the car? High powered amplifiers specifically?

Sorry about getting back late. Nothing additional added to this vehicle. Stock stereo equipment and no CD player.

Hey,

How hold is your battery? These cars need a lot of power due to all the electrical compnents. While many will say the car will still run once started, it will not run well. Particulary if you load the electrical system with the AC. I would check your battery.
