E34 Wimpy Low Beams

I have the stock 9006 HB4 bulbs (Sylvania 51watt) and they aren't very bright. Is there an alternative that won't overload the system?

You can modify the uncapped 60 watt highbeam halogen bulbs to fit in the lowbeam positions by following these instrctions. There is only a 9 watt increase in power required and the cost is the price of two new #9005 bulbs.

Click this link, http://snipurl.com/r7pr

I have also made these modifications for my foglamps

There are uncapped bulbs available on the internet that do the same thing that probably fit like factory, I believe one model Hella # H9 but they have to be ordered, I can't find any in stores. If IRC they put out much more light than the 9005 bulb using the same power.
