Temp Indicator

Now that it's gotten cold here, I've noticed on various occassions that the outside temp gauge will flash and it will chime for a couple of seconds and return to normal.
any clues?

Have you read the owner's manual? Have you searched the various BMW forums archives? No? Oh well, new guys deserve some slack. :-)

Answer: Given the right atmospheric conditions and cold pavement, "black ice" can form on the roadway and bridges at as high as 37°F. Your sweetheart is trying to tell you something! :-)
