Okay, for three days i've been trying to replace my 1995 530i alternator, and have failed to even remove the old one. I'm getting deeper and deeper into the disassemlbly of surrounding components, and am frustrated with the difficulty of what should be an easy job. This is the first time I've ever seen an alternator mounted on the bottom with it's own air intake. Can post pics if helpful. Any advice would be appreciated, thx!

I'm going to copy this question to our forums and send you a link. If you can go there and post some photos, perhaps we can help you decipher this.
