rear end noise
I used to have an 88 535i which I'd like to replace someday. However, there was an annoying "clunk" from the right rear over some bumps. I replaced the shocks, springs, mounts etc. and it never went away. Now I have heard something about a rear carrier mount or something that may have caused the noise. Does anyone have more information on this problem?
Thanks,

On the 3-Series, the rear shock mounts can sometimes break a bit, giving a similar sound. But I haven't heard about this on the five series...
