diagnostic code help

Checked the codes on my 2000 740il and it showed "mixture control, idle Cyl #1-4 and Cyl # 5-8", "engine cooling fan control" and "Knock sensor, Cyl # 5-6". Can anyone tell me what parts, if any, I may need to fix these codes? Thanks

Hmm,

The real issue is you can not just replace a part for each reported issue.

Normal diagnostic requires a process.

You clear the codes and see if they are reset?

Many issues on the OBD II are temporary and never return.

Then you will need to understand that one issues such as a lean condition on one cylinder can produce a list of reported problems.

Thanks for the reply. I reset the codes and the only one to return was the engine cooling fan control. Any ideas what might be causing this. The car does not run hot at all.

Thanks

some engine fan info

There is a thermostat switch, a normal relay, and a hi speed relay.

You will need to find out where the signal is stopping.
