e24 heater problem

I have an '86 635csi and the heater will go full hot at the slightest tweak of the temp control. I have replaced the electronic rheostat control behind the knob...the entire heater valve assy...etc...etc. It gets so hot inside the car that it's almost unbearable. You have to barely turn on the heat for a minute...then turn it off to remain somewhat comfortable.Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,Steve
