Hello Pelican staff:
I have a strange problem with my 09/95 E38, when it is really cold outside more than -9°c and there is high moisture in the air I get the following symptoms : If I turn on the Recirc and rear window heater, they turn off after a random time, 15sec to 6min., and sometimes I hear very light relay clicking from under the glovebox. I suspect that some connections or module may have bad connections, but am unsure which box controls these functions, the LCM or the GM, can you shed any light on this? The indie bmw shop can't seem to find this, and I hesitate to go to the st/dealer just yet. __________________ This post was auto-generated based upon a question asked on our tech article page here: Pelican Technical Article: BMW Blower Resistor Replacement |

The clicking may be a mode door on the heater control housing.
I would check the IHKA system for fault codes. If it is shutting down when it is humid, there may be a fault code stored related to this. The control panel could be faulty, or reacting to feedback from a sensor. - Nick |
