Opinions on Vanderlinde exhaust and chip
Looking at a setup on e-bay with the "B" chip. Any thought son power gain/changes, sound, etc?

Good Stuff
Love mine. Great quality and love the look. Make sure that chip is compatible with your Motronic unit. There is a difference depending on what year you have. Do a search on Vauderlinde and you will find.

I think the Vanverlinde sounds the best. It is a little on the heavy side but I haven't seen a system for the S that wasn't. Don't expect a large power increase but mine did run better, faster/smoother.

Ditto Eron. pre-muffler model isust the right level of decibles. Without it's loud.
Midrange and top end feel great! The ride is a whole new animal. Look for a thread or e-mail www.edgemoto.com for the right chip info.

I have used the Vanderlinde for 2 years. Had a problem getting the right chip. But with the right chip it runs just great. The sound is not to loud and provides music for the ears.

I have the vanderlinde and I f I could do it again I would go with the Staintune and a BB power chip.
A friend stated it was the best and I listened... You know what,, everybody says what they have is the best and I am one of the few that will tell you the truth.... I love the sound and the performance is nice but the fit & finish on the rear looks weak. Infact the stock pipes with the clean crome look better. Also the hot dog expansion I could do with out. the bike looks better with a clean back. My ilmberger hugger occasionally hits the expansion area People love the sound and the look but I would go with a staintune if I could sell it for relatively the same as what I purchased it for.The bbpower has much more flexibility, performs just a little better and can work with shrick cams if you decide to take the plunge. And no I dont have a loyalty to any company. If you want pictures... check them out at www.photoisland.com login BMWmarc password. SFBR

After two years of riding with a Two Brothers system (not bad btw), I decided to upgrade elements of the S, including Jet Hot headers, and went with a Vanderlinde exhaust/chip. I read enough rave reviews of this system to go this direction. It is a great exhaust system, and the matching chip has given my S (albeit seat-of-pants), much nicer and smoother throttle response.
Dealer did the install and the technician (who is an S track day junkie) came back from the test ride I think the rear end and pipe look great. The cans have a nice titanium look to them. Exhaust note isn't as loud as the Two Brothers (I wanted something quieter), but they aren't that much quieter. I do like how the sound is a little more mellow and "belchier". But exhaust notes are a subjective thing. Net, I think the Vanderlinde's are one of the finest systems out there. |
