bought a R120ST and have some questions about Power Commander

Hi guys,
I just bought a R1200ST and thought members of this forum may be able to help with a question about Power Commanders. Similar bike to the 12S I guess.
The bike is fitted with a carbon induct, rocket sprockets and a Power Commander V controller.
I'm still preparing it for roadworthy and haven't ridden it yet.
The Power Commander has both O2 sensors disconnected and it appears this is how it's done from the late night Google search.
What are the thoughts on disconnection O2 sensors and Power Commanders?
Is it really an advantage to eliminate the feedback to the ECU?
Regards Mark.

I had one on my R1200s. I disconnected the O2 sensors and bought some large diameter shrink wrap and then zip tied them just below where the connected.

2yrs later, I was having issues with the bike idling and cutting off. I took it to the independent BMW mechanic locally. He did several diagnostic things (very technical I know) and said that everything with the bike was fine. He rode it and it repeated the issues I told him about.

I downloaded a two new maps for PowerCommander (a zero and the one for my modification) and it didn't fix it.

I ended up taking it off and threw it away.

Bike has run fine ever since.
