Thumbs up Something for the toolkit

Went to the Boat show last weekend and was cruising through the vendors tents. Came across a booth and the guy was selling this glue. It is called Bondwell. It is a glue that sets up instantly, gel like and doesn't leave any residue like Super glue does. It works on metal to metal, rubber, glass damn near anything. So the guy demos it....He takes an oring and breaks it. Takes the glue and puts a drop on the break on one side. Sticks the ring bacl together then hands it to me and says break it! I grab it at the repair point and pull....it just streches but doesn't break....He does the same thing with some vinyl, works great. I couldn't break it.

I ask about leather, he whips out a belt, cuts it and glues it back together. Same thing, pull as hard as I can, can't break it. So I pop 20 bucks for a bottle. Go home and glue a ceramic thingy my girlfriend had and it worked great. I was thinking that this could be good for when you are on the road and have a tear in a hose, or you crack body work etc. Not to end all fix, but could repair something long enough to get home or out of the boonies....

Will post the 800 number when I get home if anyone is intrested, but so far, this is some good stuff to keep around. It is guaranteed for 2 years to be good. One other thing, the guys puts a drop on his finger and hold his fingers together, no stick! He said it works by a chemical reaction to the materials, not a bonding like conventional glues. But I still wonder how it does that on glass?

i bought it a couple years ago amazing stuff i needed to make a drive belt for an old reel to reel tape deck I cut a longer belt down with a razor joined the ends and that sucker worked like a charm couldn't break the joint but could break the belt. Came with powder filler for larger cracks. It's saved me a few times in my shop for circuit board crack repairs too. hasen't dried out yet like most super glues.

you might need that to hold the falco together, once parts start to dry up
