Common? I don't believe it's anything approaching that.
One article describing a "rash".... I think you would have heard about it before now.

How many folks guessing on this thread even have a twin spark?

Mine did a 27,000 mile year - and it was trouble free, both plugs looked near mint when removed.

Spark plugs can and do fail....rarely, but in 18 months or so of the twin spark variety of lower plug being around, this is the first I've heard of it.

What year(s) were you in Viet Nam?
What did you do there and where did you do it?

Buddy of mine went to Nam in Bridge Corp. I slunk off and hid on a nice, quiet nuclear submarine. Closest I got to Nam was Hawaii, and that was as a civilian, at that! I just got into the Nav soon enough to 'earn' the National Defense medal. So I'm officially a Viet Nam Era veteran.

About the most accurate thing I will say about Nam is it was screwed up from the minute the French pulled out and Eisenhauer got us in there. The past is passed, let's leave it at that.

I see now that I was confused by your words, "Personally I'd rather go down shooting up bad guys in the streets. Too much Viet Nam..." and thought that we may have something in common from over there, etc. So I asked.

Fair enough.
