Me, too. Wife watches way more than enough Celeb Poker already! I know, go to another room. But anyway, I think Bravo is little more than a mom & pop network. It's like "The Goulosh Channel". A weird mix of programs and scheduling. More proof that I'm in the wrong job.

The worst thing about celebrity poker isn't us the viewers who can change channels.

Its the actors who's careers are in the toilet that have to be on it because its the only gig they can get!!

somebody needs to teach those guys how to fill a fuel tank without douching their eyeballs. doing it once...okay, you're just stupid. doing it twice....that takes a little extra talent.

they should watch the scene in Blazing Saddles when the guy can't get the cap back onto the pen until someone says "think of your secretary"...and it goes right in.

...brad

ps: i just keep counting all the times you see those Sidi boots we gave those guys, and wondered if the KTM people are tuning in to verify how stupid their decision was in not letting them have bikes. I saw the KTM guys over the weekend and asked about that little self-sodomization. Not surprisingly, they still think they made the right decision by turning them down. Yea, right. you wouldn't want 50 million people to see your bike and logo...hell that'd ruin everything!

Thats for sure. Those BMW's are getting a lot of camera exposure, also in the durability of them. Especially if they keep dumping them! Can't hurt.

As far as the show I'm resigned to accept it for what it is, like a travelogue - not bad, interesting scenery. Nobody else was doing it so more power to them.

Only criticizm is the crying about how they wanted to be unnoticed/invisible in these countries. Obviously that isn't going to happen.

I'm just wondering how many over-civilized upper-middle-management suits are going to run out and buy a 1200GS on the strength of the show, thinking "I could do that" without having a clue how difficult it really is!

Should be a spike in the sales starting right about now for the Xmas season.

Our Dealer brethren might be able to advise us as to sales activities in the next 3 months. Then by fall 2005 there may be a sudden upswing in the number of slightly used 1200GS on the market.

Not that I'm coming to Ewan's defense but the first douche-ing was committed by Charlie squirting him in the eye by placing his thumb on the end of the hose (to increase the pressure ala a garden hose).

I've been soaked by a pump that had a faulty auto shut-off. If I'd been looking down, I would've gotten a face full of fuel.

well hell i dunno, i guess it's because i've had my eyebrows singed off in a gone-bad pit stop that i'm so paranoid around fuel.
when i fuel that thing up, i'm wearing glasses AND have the face shield pulled down (if i can get away with it).
i've met a few nozzles that have a definite stuttering problem. i particuarly enjoy the ones that suddelny double their pressure when the guy on the other island stops fueling.
or the nozzle that goes ca-chunk-ca-chunk 17 times because the same yahoo is trying to round off his dollar amount.

that said, i'd have brake-checked and high-sided Chuckles a couple of times so far from what i've seen. that might settle him down.
i'm enjoying the show. it's fun watching other guys flail around. apparently the best rider is the cameraman, because he not only seems to get there first, but he picks out the good "gotcha" spots where those two toss it away. i think most of their problems are just a lack of dirt riding experience. a mid-teen motocross kid would quickly get bored on the stuff they've gone through so far. but it's not about the road, it's about what happens during the ride.

I worked in a Shell station many, many years ago in high school. Filling cars & washing windows. Once a pump nozzle fell out of the car filler (behind the plate) aiming right at my face and didn't shut off. Total soak with gas. Of course being it was Chicago I'm surprised some gangster in the car didn't throw his cigar butt at me and say "Thanks Sonny for the gas!"

If the gasoline doesn't take Ewan out, the mosquitos just might. So far they have been pretty safe as long as they are on the bikes. Anyone want to guess what the next non motorcycle related disaster they'll have next. I'm betting their bikes and/or gear will get stolen by the time they get to New York.

So far the thing that's cracked me up the most (being a pseudo-pro in the "TEE VEE" biz) is the "diary cam" of Ewan saying "I've been talking to this camera on PAUSE for the past fifteen minutes! F&CK!!!

I know exactly how he felt. (It makes me nervous when I laugh that hard in the house by myself.)

Okay, I'll admit it, I liked the show, and also laughed out loud more than once.

Its TV...

finally got around to watching an episode. Not too bad as a travelogue, as has been reported, but if those guys think the terrain I saw them riding is 'oh y god, what a difficult road, full of gravel and potholes', then obvoiusly, neither one of them has much offroad experience. I'd do that trip in a hearbeat if I was funded c orrectly. from what I saw of the terrain, they haven't EVEN been challenged yet. You have got to be touched by the poingnant reception they got everywhere they went. I was very impressed by the kazihk horsmen/women and thier skill. Just as some of us grew up riding a dirt bike, it was obvious those folks were lifelong horsemen and spent mass time in the saddle. there was a time when that skill in the saddle was a life-and-death proposition on a daily basis. think about riding at full-tilt boogie on one of those horses, standing up in the stirrups and shooting a bow accurately, time after time, day in and day out. I'm glad I only have the concrete jungle to deal with; it was touching to see the reception all those folks gave 'em. We prob ably aren't as friendly to strangers on our turf. Wonder if one of those gs's are gonna do a 'sky-grounder' before the show's over...spraying parts like a garden hose.....

That little canyon was interesting. They were told it was something like the Grand Canyon. Pahleeezzze. I've seen ditches in Idaho and Montana that were deeper and wider than that thing.

I think the real challenge will come when they get into eastern Siberia, and finally on to the North American continent. The shows will tell, I hope.

Talking what a circus

What a laff gas!
Them two blokes had me rollin' last night.
The DRAMA of it all!
Even my wife was wondering what their problem was.
She sez she rides rougher trails on her horse in our back yard...

Formula:
Take 2 spoon feed movie-types give them all the gear and support possible and send them off on an Adventure (2 Adventures actually, plus a third backup).
What's the outcome?
You boys want some CHEESE with that WHINE?

Quote of the show:
"Instead of this, I could be in Cannes..."

Go on to Cannes, Ewan, go on...
