Not necessarily a bad idea Chris, albeit a good deal cheaper for a UK than a US guy.

I'll have to dig around in my shed and figure out what I did with the thing. Might ask the US importer. Just gotta surf around and remind myself who that is again now.

Roger

The only guy talking out his ass in this thread is YOU!. I'm not a newbie - I've been riding for 28 years and wrenching for 30 on my cars and bikes.

I find it amusing that you have to list all your toys in your sig line.

My 5 sports cars and 15 bikes are not listed herein to illuminate my wordly wealth. You have to list them to elevate and assert your control and dominance over the readership ...how pathetic.

You go on with your bad self and continue to piss off suppliers and merchants; and I guarantee you'll continue to get bad service and bad parts - good luck, guys like you make the rest
of us look good!

I think you need to resign as moderator, you are a poor example of how to deal with a problem; or resolve a quality problem with high performance equipment.

Instead of blasting the supplier on the internet, I contacted them directly and resolved the problem.

Try it sometimes - it works!

roger albert 08-26-2005 08:36 PM

Again Beavis, I did that. It did not work. Do you have trouble reading? Are the words too big, or am I typing too fast. Bigger font maybe? Not sure why you weren't able to read that. You're obviously a newbie here w/o any knowledge of this particular problem, or how I deal with my many vendors or suppliers. Your riding experience means jack to me. Only your lack of knowing what's going on around here is useful. It allows me to s-can your comments and advice in the future, as they're obviously worthless. I only have a problem with one supplier out of dozens and dozens, and a GREAT relationship with quite a few. I can live with that, and I can live with pissing off the uninformed such as yourself.

As for the sig line, a lot of us fine it useful, so we can ask one another about particular mods, or other vehicles we find to be interesting in common. I learn what others have from their sigs, and find it useful as a way of sharing info. I, and quite a few others, have ended up exchanging info on other bikes and vehicles offline taht way. Maybe you don't see that aspect because you're panties are just too bunched to allow multiple possible reasons or perspectives. Hint: don't dry them on High next time.

Whereas feeling you need to list sheer numbers like 5 and 15 is of no valuable informative use, and thus can only sounds like bragging. Also, try woolite. You'll be less irritated/irritating.

Geez Louise...what a thread.

Hi Roger

The reason i did what i did, learned many years ago always deal with the organ grinder and not the monkey, you'll never get a result otherwise.

Chris

boxerpan 08-27-2005 12:57 AM

Roger,
How much to ship the dying hugger to Germany (if you can find it), yours appears to be the only one in existence that is partly sheared. In terms of R & D I would think it may be of some use to Julius, perhaps they could contribute to shipping. Jeez, I'll even chip in myself.

roger albert 08-27-2005 04:55 AM

Good input Chris and boxerpan. Thanks for the feedback.
I did in fact end up going to the grinder. As I said, they weren't helpful, not responding the first couple messages (I allowed two weeks in between requests, so as not to be too much of a pest)
Again, I eventually received a reply, saying they'd get back to me, which they never did. I gave them something like 6 weeks, and then wrote again. Never got a response. I even mentioned the value of one with a stress crack but as yet not complete failure. I'd have loved to have that, were I in their position. It didn't get me anything.

Truth be told, they've apparently changed the design through enough interations that my very early one is probably of much less value now.

I've so far refrained from writing them again. It just feels like throwing good money after bad. More time wasted.

Roger,
if we get you a new hugger will you use it.... for me?:):):)
All kidding aside, the UK lads,(Boxertrix), have the right attitude on this.
Nigel is being up front with his desire to put out the best product and represent it in the same light.
good one you cheeky bast*rds:)

What a fun thread!

Who is the mysterious Ducati-rider???

He talks not of material wealth yet names himself after a motorcycle...

Does he have a real name or face? Is he on the people, pets, show your scoots threads???

Of does he hide behind the curtain of the internet, like the man in the wizard of oz ...

Inquiring minds want to know!

Jeff Williams 08-27-2005 09:29 AM

ckcar,
I know him and have ridden with him.
Over all he is a very nice guy.
He is knowledgable about bikes and has been around them for years.
I can only think that something roger said set him off,(which has happened to most people on this board as one time or another).
It just happened sooner than later.
Much love and kisseshttp://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/kao9.gif

Maybe I'm missing something here?
The older models broke and they wouldn't send replacements or refunds?
The new ones break and they send you a replacement which is the same model that almost just killed you?
Why would you put it on your bike?
Sounds like they are trying to quiet down their detractors by eventually eliminating them.

Dbltailexit 08-28-2005 01:45 PM

no mystery on the Rider, we were at the top of Drum Canyon when the hugger failed, I had the honor of ripping in half the offending part so that he could get home safely with a rear brake. It's like 100 degree's no wind and three of us in riding gear. Road was very choppy and I was leading the pace off my saddle thinking i was on my KTM Duke 2, which likely added to the result.
I too can be set off by reference to certain products, don't ask be about OCWEN morgage without closing your ears. best to all fellow riders.

Sorry for slow response. Just back from track weekend.
