Full floating disks and better Calipers
I have seen a few of the European racing R1100s's with brembo monoblocks and was wondering if anyone racing in the NL has any feedback on the various brake caliper/rotor combinations being used over the last few months.
does anyone in Europe have any info from Braking Systems on the new Wave rotor as seen on the Corona Superbikes on the World Superbike circuit this year? I had a conversation with Galfer here in the US about them and they said there are just a few models that they make the Galfer version of this rotor for and they don't know when we'll see them for the S (he was more optimistic about my TZ). They claim the rotors are 50% lighter than the same material full floating rotors and the performance is aparently superior as well. Thus reducing gyroscopic effect and making faster, later corner entries on the track possible... if anyone hears anything about availability on these rotors anywhere in the world please let me know. If you're interested in the rotors go to http://www.braking.com and look at the wave rotor section... if we show enough interest maybe we can get them to up interest in producing them for the S. info.tec@braking.com is their e-mail address. jpf |
