How do I tell if my Laser have db killers or not?

I ordered new BC-I system from fosterRAD and it arrived today.

I specifically asked him to have those db killers removed.

Looking closely at the outlets, I can see the inner tube welded to the inside. I'm not sure if that is db killers or not.

Can someone provide a picture of both laser cans with db killers intact and one that's removed?

Thanks, -ChaZ

…if these dB-Killers are in you can clearly see this as a “narrow” insert (about 7 or 8 centimeters long/short, spot-welded to your outlets) ; if not, there is a clear view into your exhaust…
…sorry no picture at hand at this very moment…

if your outlet has a hole where a bolt could be inserted, the db killers are removed. not sure why you asked for them to be removed since it is a simple thing and you might actually like them in.

i have about 30k miles on the S with a laser race system and they are still going strong. they seemed to be getting slightly louder during the cross-country trip to california. we were running around monterey and i was drowning out the aprilia's i was riding with

i was even getting compliments on how the S was sounding. it wasnt till i got back that i realized they were much louder at the end of the trip. wondering about repacking now.

RoLoo and repoe3,

Thanks for explaining to me. I realized that it is the db killers I was looking at when I saw the outlets. I already called Robert Foster at FosterRad and he was very sorry about having them sent to me without db killers removed. I have to admit that his customer service is one of the best I have encountered when dealing with people over phone via relay service for the deaf people.

repoe3, I wasn't aware that laser mufflers needs to be repacking. I thought there was nothing to pack in there?

So anyway... I'm gonna go ahead and remove the db killers by myself. If you notice that if I post more replies with bad case of spelling, it means that I've lost one or two fingers in the process of premoving the killers

BMW Roundel Sorry and Repacking

Greetings Xa3 and Repoe,

I am sorry Xa3 that we did not remove the DB-Killers for you. It was on the shipping ticket and our shipping department did not notice it. We have instituted another line for instructions on our shipping ticket so this will not happen again.

However, this was the first request that we had like this on the LASER BC-I system that was set to ship.

We have removed plenty here on "in the shop" bikes.

Again sorry!

REPOE:

Call me!

Repoe has the BC-II system and it is a racing system. Unlike the BC-I system the BC-II system was requested to have a loud sound by BMW for the BoxerCup (Less packing material). Thus the need to repack as the volume increases. We offer a longer lasting packing meterial that has a much longer life for the BC-II system.

Xa3:

You have the BC-I system, we have NEVER sold any packing meterial for that system and there are plenty of them around!

Thanks for your information.

i wasnt saying it HAD to be repacked..but something to consider. it doesnt bother me, but it can affect the flow of the system for obvious reasons. and i cant complain how well the bike runs...if anything i need to adjust the throttle cables to smooth it out a bit, but she is stong.

Finally got those db killers off! And still have my fingers on.

I won't be installing the laser exhaust system on my bike til next Friday. I'll be sure to post the pictures when I'm done...
