'cinco de mayo time...so mexicali beer it is'
I'm doing my own boycott of things mexican for the forseeable future; just contributing my little pushback; 'no illegal immigrants..no burritos...america, you should be afraid' no problem..I don't eat at mcdonalds and I'm not going to azteca and I'm drinking guiness on may 5. On a More Serious Note. take it all apart. pull both throttle bodies. pull both rubber intake manifolds and yamabond4 them to the cylinderheads. have the throttle bodies out in the open and make sure both butterflies are completely closed at 0 throttle opening (the BBS's are a poor man's idle air controller motor). snap the throttle a few times and observe if the butterflies open completely and close completely and smoothly; if not fix the mechanical issue. if they do, go back and measure TPS voltage at 0=0 and make sure it's under 400MV pull the TPS wiring harness connector; make sure it's seated completely and correctly in the tps connector and examine closely the wiring at the conenctor for breaks and cracks. hows the battery and charging system at idle? hows the ignition system; are both plugs fireing consistently?

![]() well, i finally have the idle nice and low, about 1k rpm, and what appears to be balanced on the twinmax. it did require me to back off the left idle stop screw a tad. to balance, the BBS's are not out much, so no concern for being too lean in that regard. might want to play with the balance higher up, but will see. i think feel an occilation from the slight imbalance near 3500rpm or so. interestingly enough, no hiccup felt as of yet. of course, if you have not seen the other thread...this bit has been overshadowed by my clutch slipping and bad. slips at take off and accelerating above 5500rpm. so for now, i think i got the cable, idle, sync issue sorted for the most part. re-doubly-checked the TPS setting (which means in the future, there is good reason to do the zero=zero procedure, but in due time). hope to take the salve cylinder off the bike, check the pushrod, and while i have not been in the clutch fluid res lately, see that it is not overfilled. not seeing any weeps so dont think it is a seal gone bad. if that doesnt do it...seriously considering the touratech ceramic clutch for a replacement, and a new flywheel. having just dropped the coin to put ohlins on the bike, i really want to keep it. repoe3
