Oh the heavy, heavy taxes you pay in Europe!...I was so glad I moved back to the States to escape from the Criminals, ooops I mean Government robbing me of my precious little wealth. If not for that I'd have stayed because it's a really nice place. We lived a half hour north of Regensburg, Germany and the riding all around there was heavenly. Heading south towards the Alps was always nice for a day trip too.

A used 999 is looking so attractive.

Heavenly Riding.... You have all that here in the U.S. if you know were to look. Granted your location in Cornfield County is not motorcycle heaven, but..... We will get you on some nice roads this summer, provided you either take some time off from work, or RELOCATE I understand the local corporate Jet customizing shop we discussed earlier is still growing....

fair enough acid buy you might as well try to build a superbike from an 86 gsxr. Doable with enough funds, bit the most slightly tweaked 07 will leave the most radically built 86 for dead. It's just fighting with one arm -- and I should know. I'm getting cranky. Now where's my vicodin?

still have not had a seat on the 1098 but I was at the big launch party tonight. TBH I never thought much of the 1098 when I saw it at the bike show; too many other models for its beauty to get lost in. Tonight at the launch while the Kawi's and Triumphs were still around, the 1098 on a raised centre stage was much more impressive. The detail showed up better in the better lighting and the time spent walking about the chassis really allowed me appreciate the lines and the detail thrown at this machine. I personally would still go for the 1098 @ $19,999 CAD v. the S @ $24 or $26,000 CAD, I forget TBH since once I saw the price it was not an option for me. The S does have better componentry but the stock showa is no slouch either. Besides to be fair, Ohlins would still need to be set up per rider, I would rather buy the more advanced models in a few years, built to my requirements rather than revalving stock ones from day one. In any event all of the 1098's in Ottawa were presold following the Toronto show in December. Nothing until July/August unless the dealer can grab someone elses allotment. All in all a very impressive step forward for Ducati and while I may never own one, I cannot fail to see this as beneficial to us all, no matter what brand you are a fan of.
