Does the r1200s on board computer option exist?

Great start.. I screwed up my first post....

Anyway, I took a demo ride on a r1200s today and came away very impressed. My first BMW was a r1100rt and my current BMW is a k1200rs. As much as I like the k there is something about a twin that just "feels" right. To me, the r1200s offers all, if not more, of the "oomph" that makes me enjoy the k.

I've decided I want one but don't know if there is any point in waiting to see if my dealer can locate one with the on-board computer option if the option only exists on paper. I've read somewhere that if I see an "Info" button instead of "Trip" then it has the computer option. That doesn't see to be true as I've seen 2 bikes with "Info" and they just cycle between the trip odometers.

Does anyone know "The real story"..

Thanks,

Tom

My bike has the "info" button but does not have the optional on board computer. It just cycles the mileage between total miles and two trip numbers. It does give me miles to go when I hit reserve, however.

The onboard computer option did exist, I ordered it when I ordered the S back in November in 2005 I believe it was(delivered in May...).

It never got delivered and I believe it was taken of the accessories list early last year.

Al you got anyway was a fuel meter and 2 extra tripmeters...

on board computer

we have an 07 R12S, in the showroom. Red and silver. The on board computer has: a real gas gauge, oil level sensor, and the freeze warning air temperature sensor. It is a demo with 190 miles on it.

Mine is like Robs. The bare minimum....

TJS, thanks for the info. Can you tell me if the on board computer box itself takes up any of the already limited under seat storage space or is mounted out of the way somewhere else? Looking at pros/cons...

Thanks,

Tom
