There are companies that can digitize for you. Much easier.

I'd have to agree with TM. I've scarcely scanned a slew of small slides, but it sounds like a lot of tedious work.

Maybe the first step is using a light table and sorting by best to worst. Then find a decent company to do the digitizing and send out batches and see how they do.

I use a Nikon Super Coolscan 5000.....yeah it is tedious, but you have more control over the final output. You can get an optional slide feeder that would help speed the process. It takes up to 50 slides at a whack.

Check out Ebay....lots of folks do what you are looking to do and then sell off the unit when they are done.

I use an Epson Perfection V700 for both photo negatives as well as slide positives with excellent results. My scanner came with negative holders for a variety of formats as well as a slide carrier. True I can only scan a dozen or so slides or so at a time, but it's the post scan processing that is time consuming. If you group scans together that have similar exposure characteristics then you can finish up scanned images using Camera Raw available in Adobe's Lightroom or Bridge where it is possible to create exposure compensation profiles for batch processing.

Back in 05 there was a Porsche get together and some guy left his audi in the parking lot that the Porsche guys had reserved for their photo shoot...
So they had a pic with lots of porsche's and this one black Audi... It spread around the internet pretty quick.. Kind of like Looty from the suburu wrx site.

Here is a pic that has been photoshopped, with 2 more added to the front.

That is how I am leaning at this point, Just a couple of hours ago I found a very good deal on a used Coolscan 5000 ($300 under current used market), and can pick up a used feeder from E-bay. When I am done I should be able to make a few bucks on the deal, when I resell it on E-bay, based on the current going selling values of completed auctions.

Bill, there was a great ambiance there that night, and I kept waiting for the guy to leave. But no... He was good friends with Mr. Daniels, and Mrs. Miller and Mr. Weiser, and of course those Gallo brothers, but they're in the red right now.

Well... He left the keys in the ignition... all you had to do was move it around back.

That's exactly what I saw when I was there!

If Carlton had done the edit I'd be scrutinizing the photo looking for secret funny stuff.

Well then Mr. Carr might I suggest you scrutinize the pic of my trackday line-up at Roebling?
