pretty colors!

That is a great sky line shot. Minneapolis has a pretty sky line (variety of buildings & lighting) especially in the mornings b/f the sun is completely up.

What's that green stuff on the ground under the horses?

I'd take pictures out my front door, but it's just a poorly shoveled mess, and not much to see, in a dense, old neighborhood. Before I shoveled, maybe, but even then, it's no savannah covered in a fine powder or anything.

Maybe I'll get a few good shots of the jet-stream as I fly over it tomorrow and escape this frigid mess.

Steve:
Do you know if that airship is a new Zeppelin? Looks like one but I didn't think they were in North America yet.

Well, answered my own question: it IS!

No idea, Moyb. I just assumed it was another airship I hadn't seen before. I didn't know there was a successor company making ships. Very interesting.

I can take a 3 day cruise for what they want for a 1 hour ticket! Little late to the party what with the economy and all?

These guys in their flying antenna were following the whales all day long, indicating that some of them must have been radio-tagged. That plane was pulling 2 drones, about 400 yards back and very close to the water.

And back on land... still close to the water.

Nice pics Steve...and Ralph.

Zeppelin was my Employer in Germany. They are the largest Dealer for Caterpillar in the EU. http://www.zeppelin.de/01de.html

Here's their Luftschiff (Air Ship) Webpage: http://www.zeppelin.de/D/konzern/06de.html

And the Airship Museum webpage: http://www.zeppelin-museum.de/

What was it like working for the Germans?...I have very fond memories of Management and Fellow Employees that were very engaged about their work and the products (Mobilbagger) we developed.

Here's a pic of a used M318C:

They've gone on to develop the D Series since I left in 1997...Gee has it been over 11 years already?

Alcatraz- the night tour... Photo album here.

The boat leaves at 4:20, so I knew the light would be good when we circled the island about 15 minutes later. As for later, I figured it would be interesting...

I have fond memories of that place and the boys...
