Check out www.boxerdesign.de

I bought my pan from them and have been totally happy with it over two years of use.

Unpainted, its Euro 292.50 (USD 389.25)

A picture on the day it was installed:

That does look really good. I will check to see if it is race approved. Does this BP have a slot for the kick-stand?

It looks like a kick-stand will work.

Hey Peter, I don't think they allow kick stands on the comp. races. I'm adding stuff to the bike after my crash in Daytona.

You're right-no stands. I use the trackside stand for the track bike.

For some reason the solid color on the bottom just looks out of place, now if the paint scheme matched the top fairing now your talking!

Besides looks is there another reason for the bellypan, does it help aerodynamics? I would think the bike would run a bit warmer with all the air being blocked from underneath, though it may not...

Yah, i have the track stands now, just needing a belly pan like N8 has on the old 1100s.

IIRC having a slot for the sidestand makes it ineligible for racing.

Belly pans don't really make BMWs run hotter as the cylinders stick out on either side. Personally I think they improve the looks of the bike.

That is what i was thinking. Yes, the bike looks really good with a belly pan.

Where is the best place to get the mounting hardware for the belly pan? I have a fiber-glass imitation of the CF one standard on the BCR's, but I cant find the mounting hardware to save my life.

Been offline for a while, catching back up...

About the question of kick-stand. Yes this belly pan has a slot on the left side for the kick stand. The company also makes a model that allows the use of the standard R1100S center-stand also, but I'm not sure what that looks like.

I also think that the pan would look good in a non-solid color motiff. I had a mind to dust off the airbrush and have a go at blending / fading the checkering on the upper fairing as well as continuing the pattern onto the belly pan, but then the bathroom remodelling, the carpeting, the painting, and the landscaping got going.

As far as functionality, the only thing I notice while riding on the street regards sound. I've checked this a couple times, and I find that there is a lot more mechanical engine type sound with the pan off. I'm guessing that there is more mechanical sound from the engine internals being reflected off the tarmac back up to the rider. With the pan on, there's kind of a muffling effect. You still hear the valve gear, obviously, but there's a significant dampening of other engine-related sound. Maybe I'm crazy on this one though.

It's not listed on his website, but Flexi-Glass in Canada has a race belly pan available. It is made for the R1100, and we modified it to work on the R1200.
