Fluids??
Getting ready to do the 12K service and I need to know where everyone gets their Brake and Trans and Gear fluid.
I used to get everything from the dealer when I lived in FL. Kind of far from the dealer now. Can I get some of these at the Auto Parts store? What kind and grade of brake fluid everyone get?

For piece of mine I would order/ship from dealer. You pay a little bit more but if any waranty issues come up you can prove you used the right stuff.

I've been using Mobile 1 Synthetic 75W90 in both trans and final drive without any problems. I've been using Castrol Synthetic 3 / 4 brake fluid for brakes and clutch also without any problems. I get all this at AutoZone any time I need it.
I'm probably going overboard, but I change all fluids every spring. That way I know the bike is ready to ride. |

I know, they are all good. I just trust bmw spec. and the weights that they use. I like using factory spec. products and I have no worries. Little story: I had my watch servived at a non authorized dealer and it did not work right. So I took my watch to a authorized dealer using factory parts and $800.00 later my watch is perfect. I pissed away about $200.00 dollars trying save $100.00. So now I use factory stuff.
No worries, Lane

Since you live in Cumming ride over to ATL and see Bobby at BMW Atlanta for all your fluids. Grear folks and you can meet other riders of BMW's from all over GA.
