Removing Paint scrape on System Cases

During the ride to the Mungenast Motorcycle Museum in STL last weekend, I had gassed up and as I pulled away from the Fuel Island I scraped my left System Case against the Island...one of those old small town gas stations with the cement bulwarks on either end painted white about a hundred times.

It left an 8" long section of white paint on the System Case that proved very stubborn to remove. I tried: Car Wax, K&N Air Filter Cleaner Soap, WD-40, and some other cleaners in the Kitchen...nothing worked. Finally, I tried some old Brake Fluid...IT WORKED! I then cleaned off the Brake Fluid and it looks just fine again.

Now you know why they say don't spill brake fluid on paintwork.

If you'd used new brake fluid it would have come off even faster.
