Power Commander for R1200S?

Does anybody make a tuning box for the R1200S yet? I'd like to get rid of the just off idle stumble my bike has.

Ask your dealer to upload an update if you don't have the latest version. The bike shouldn't stumble off idle.

So, I take it there are no tuners yet for the R1200S. Correct?

I've actually sent Power Commander a mail asking the question. Apparently the power commander cannot handle the two oxygen sensors that our bikes use. From their e-mail it almost sounded that the ECU handles it as two separate systems...

There is also this module, the Rapid Bike:
http://www.rapid-bike.org/html/beispiel_bmw.html
the bike shown is a R1200S
And this is a dyno of a R1200S with QD exhaust and Rapid Bike installed:
http://gs-fun-factory.homepage.t-online.de/R1200S%20L%20QD.PDF?foo=0.3350410749737354
Almost 10hp increase!!! The dyno's show a lot of power differences between the R1200S; from 112 till 118 rwhp.
Here are tuning examples:

…a few of ‘us’ over here ride around with a RapidBike box fitted…
…and we all say the same…

…better performance…
…better fuel economy…

…I had my doubts, as most of ‘us’ did ; but it is truly worth the investment…

…example : a Dutch guy with a K12R, with twin air-filters (instead of the standard one), a full Laser Power-Cup exhaust, and a RapidBike : result 161,2 rear wheel HP…

…and that is a lot…

…don’t know exactly how much more HP my R12S gained, and frankly I don’t care. Top speed wasn’t (isn’t) my goal, but engine smoothness is. And with such a RapidBike box engine smoothness improved enormously…

Robert, Is the map preloaded, or does the bike bike need to be set-up on a dyno? What is the availability of someone with experience with this system setting up the map?

Bob, what gains did you get with the manipulated version of the PCIII? Would you recon it is worthwhile and your opinion of long term disatvantages for the bike?

Yes, I get 45 + riding 2 up here in Wisconsin. I get 48+ riding 2 up with luggage while touring out west.

Guys...Can you take this discussion elsewhere? I dont care if Santa Claus sells tuner boxes..I just want to buy one and make an informed decision when I do so. What does the Rapid Bike box cost? Is there a discount to Pelican members?

Put me on the list...depending. I still just wanna know if the surge at 5500 rpm is the best it can be or not. My concern is that the surge could be hiding a dip in power below that point that shouldn't be there. I'm a winner either way as it's more power than I know what to do with in stock trim.....but as one of our Pelican bro's says...but maybe "I can make it better."

Thanks for the research. Please put me on the list as well. What is involved with the install of this thing? The website is no use unless you have a password.

I had spoken to Ken at Evo a while ago and they were only going to offer the Rapid Bike as a "shop only" install. They felt it was a more involved install?

Thank you for your kind assistance

Greetings Roger,

This is a tech board and not a soap opera.

It is in our best interests as a tech board that Bobby and I never interact again.

Thank you for moderating this issue. As usual, you do a great job.

Enjoy the summer.

Best from (on a sailboat) the Cheasepeake Bay near Ocean City.
