Question TDC mark?

I adjusted the valves on my '99 R1100S the other night... After reading a couple of "how-to" documents beforehand, I gathered that the |S OT| mark should be centered in the little window, so that's what I did. I turned the engine over until the little space in between the "S" and the "OT" was in the very center of the window (the two "lines" above "S" and below "OT" were at the top and bottom of the window), like this:

----
S

OT
----

After reading some more today, it seems that I should have centered the "line" that is below the "OT" mark in the window instead... Is that right, or did I do it correctly the first time?

I started the bike up for a minute after buttoning everything back up, and it ran great. So, should I go back and do it again with the "line" below "OT" centered this time, or will it be OK the way that I did it?

Here's a pic that I took while doing the job. (It looks like the marks are lower in the window than they really are because of the angle that I took the picture from.)

That's just a reference... use the side arrow on the cam chain sprocket.

Awesome. That'll make doing the job MUCH easier!

I searched the forum for "top dead center" and didn't see that thread that you linked to, but I'll be sure and bookmark it for future reference now!

Thanks!

Yer fine Fixxxer. Since you're on the back side of the cam you can be off a few degrees for setting the valves and it won't matter.
