Do all the right things and heal quickly. A shortcut now in heal/rehab will mean much longer 'til back to normal. Heal well.

Thanks for the tips.... Roger, I tend to overdo rehab as I am very fond of being physically capable to do anything I did as a kid.. Using the muscles are painful but atrophy or loss of motion would hurt more in the long run.

Yes I am a witch doctor. Hope to see you soon.

Dee... Since I know your background and the work you do to help others that struggle with addictions I understand and appreciate your concern. I was Joking somewhat about liking the drugs... I am fortunate that I hate not being alert... Drug and Alcohol addiction were part of my past... But I was freed from that many years ago, in such a way that I can have a drink or two and not need or want more... Hope to see you in MO.

Thanks Paul,
When I had my knee surgery (ripped all the ligaments and blew out the knee socket muscles) The surgeon also happened to be a friend of mine... He told me how important the exercising aspect of rehap was.... He also informed me that I was going to lose lots of motion in the knee.. I guess that scared me into working real hard at doing my Physical Therapy. at my 2 week visit he was shocked that I was sitting indian style on the table, and had full motion... Those were a painful first two weeks, but after 6 hard weeks of rehab I accomplished a lot. I still have 100% range motion in that knee and can run as much as I want.... Knees are important for dirtbike riding which I really enjoy. This morning I have been exercising the wrist and making a fist, and I can tell it is starting to hurt less.

YOU AND ROGER OUGHT TO RIDE UP TO THE FALLING LEAF RALLY IN MO.!!!

Yikes....looks nasty. Was that injury on the back side of the forearm? Most of the goodies are on the palm side. Hope you're back in the saddle soon. I guess it's true that most accidents happen in the home.

It's after breakfast now so I've looked at the picture. You possess amazing presence of mind to remember to bring the camera along.
Get well soon.

all that's fine and good, and i'm glad you're okay Bill, but this passle of prejudiced posters are all ignoring the real burning question:

how's the grinder tool?

is it okay? any deep scratches or gouges? need repainting? still spin up?
is it a tad gun-shy about getting back to the task at hand? will it need therapy?
what's the prognosis for the poor pneumatic patient?

man, some of you guys are SO insensitive when it comes to stuff like this!

Dave,
Palm side, about 2" north of Grand Central...

Brad,
Checked on the grinder yesterday when i went back to get the Jeep... It isn't talking... psychological scars from unintentionally hurting a loved one.

I also had to check to see if any pieces of the stone flew to the shop bay next door... There is an immaculate 56 Vette parked over there... that would have sucked..even though the guy has about 6 of them

Bill,

I see you have the scissors out, don't take the stitches out yet, you need to wait a few day.

bill~

thanx for that update on the grinder. i was worried.

and about those stitches...um yea....i'm thinkin' that they're gonna leave a mark. probably a raised, red line, couple o' millimeters wide.

but wait....you have a grinder.....and with a nice 1200+ grit sandpaper head, what the heck, in no time at all you could grind that scar down.

they call it "dermabrasion" and it's really, really expensive.
why?
it's on account that THE DOCTOR'S scrubbing grinder is all fancy-asss chromed.

yours will do the job. and surely someone on this board can find detailed instructions.
in mean, it's not like this isn't done everyday by the average do-it-yourself guy.

("Next week on Do It Yourself Doctorings, we'll visit a Massachusetts man who removes his appendix while putting yet another coat of varnish on the family's dining room table, we drop in on a Nebraskan's unique use of mirrors to perform a gall bladder removal, and finally we'll stop by a Californian who's artful combination of a concrete bit and a lobotomy help him become one of the best liked surfers in Sunset Beach!")

bill;WOW!
seeing that just made me go change the disc in mine, as I heard a faint 'crunch' from the disc when I set it down yesterday. Guess I'll go back to long-sleeve shirts in the shop too, and maybe a faceshield instead of safety glasses.
Glad you're OK.
did I ever tell ya about the time I impaled myself in the a$$ 6" deep with a piece of 3/8" rebar while building a footing for a retaining wall here at WeatherPointe...that took some explaining at ehe local E-room...and the nurese were cracking up...something about 'ripping myself a new *sshole'...

Damm Bill!

You don't mess around!!!

Gotta come up with a better war story to explain the scare. "My grinder blew up on me" won't get you far unless you are in a shop class!!!

Heal well!!

Alex

Do you think you can keep the stitches until after you pass out candy on Halloween?

Taking the long way around to remove an appendix? Good to hear you didn't hit bone or lose any motion. The skin and muscle will heal quick. at least you have a reason to shave that arm now!
