Dang! How often does that happen!?!...I guess it's a good thing my Harbor Freight $16.99 cheap-o cut-off grinder just took a dump, because I've been pushing it hard without a guard on it...
I just bought another $29.99 job at Lowe's I haven't used.
I'll be making sure the guard stays on that one...now I'm a-scared....

Guess I need to tighten up on my sometimes lax safety measures. Funny how you get complacent and don't use the safety equipment after nothing happens for years. Going to use this as a PSA for the Kids too!!!

Glad you are O.K.

Yesterday..... I kept reaching for my watch thinking the band was irritating my arm... only to realize I haven't worn a watch since the invention of the cell phone clock display.

I am glad you are doing better and that it wasn't more serious than it already was. God bless, heal quick....

How about ear plugs, were you protecting the ears too? Glad you had on the safety glasses....

Thumbs up

poo-say... I nearly severed my thumb on a tablesaw back in early july- I bandaged it up and drove myself to the hospital. Got fast tracked through triage because they thought I might pass out...
glad you're alright Bill!

Hehe... that reminds me of the time when I cut two of my fingertips off, bone and all... my assistant passed out, so I picked the darn things up and and drove to the ER... I thought they would not need them anymore and tossed them... the Doc yelled at me and picked them out of the trash, cleaned them and stitched them back on... that was 5 years ago and I still don't have a bit of feeling in them.....

Glad it was not more serious, Bill... get well fast!

ok... I'll give you a pass, you can have your man card back... I was just funnin ya. I won't use cut-off wheels for that very reason. I'm clumbsy enough as it is without using exploding tools. Took the guard off the grinder, did ya?

Wow... well at least they fill out your riding gloves..... That will teach you to keep your fingers away from Ducati Cooling Fans...

...if it would have just been like that, Bill... that would be exciting... nope, I cut them off, sliding a carpet knife with full force along an aluminum ruler... slipped and hopped on the ruler where my fingers where.... not good!

Yes, back to "reality" I suppose. Gotta finance the next trip. I posted a trip report (long, sorry) over at bmwforums.net with some Bonneville pictures.

Take care!
