This is my 20th year of riding. Probably about 100k miles total.

One accident. Sitting at a red light a drunk tapped my leg, bike, and passenger's leg.

A dented -up fairing, a bruised-up leg for me and her. 3 months in county jail for him.

looks like you've recovered well, physically and mentally. lesson's learned indeed. i'm thankful it wasn't worse for me. i hope your ride was good yesterday.

Words to live by. After splitting traffic aggressively in LA for 14 yrs it became a mantra.

I've taken my small share of pavement samples, and they do space out as I get older. I put that down to experience more than chance.

I love riding, but I would never suggest anyone take it up.

35 years - no serious accidents. Been over the handlebars several times on dirt, but just got scraped up so not serious. On pavement, only 2 slow-speeders due to gravel / new tires - not serious. Broke the forks off in a head-on with another bike (dirt), but we missed each other in mid-air so again, not serious.

34 years for me.

A couple of slides, hit the odd car with the worst spinning an old mini like a top at about 50 mph. The car was a right off, the bike sustained repairable damage and the worst for me was a fractured wrist and an all night train ride home.

Could have been much, much worse if the timing was different with a lost leg or a dead mini driver. I am real lucky with that one and I was only 18 at the time so young enough to heal quickly.

Mostly leave a 20 to 30 % margin for error with the full understanding of my own capabilities.

43 years, not a scratch. Have had a couple slow speed slides that I elected to not to participate in that resulted in a few bent parts. Came close last fall with a full tilt braking event outside of St. Louis, but overall, I would say I have been very lucky and have been fortunate to have lived in mostly lower risk areas than many of you.
