Passed another PPB member today

So, we are closed on Mondays but had to come in to meet a customer for a bit. On the small little 5 miles of I75 that I would travel I sure enough came up on a black R11S on a trailer behind a black 70's vintage sedan probably as old as myself with window down (presumably no AC) and some funny looking dude at the helm(it was more boat then current day sedan). Sure enough it was our beloved Dr C who almost came into my lane and gave a nice lil hand wave as I was rapidly approacing and he returned to his. He probably has yet to put 2 and 2 together and not realized that it was I on my HP2 E haulin ass as I pointed in his direction.

So Doc, why did you take old faithful up for a full week in the mountains when you have one of those fancy shmancy HP2 Sports for a mistress and more then enough room on that trailer for another bike? Inquiring minds want to know. Have anything to do with you asking about a ceramic clutch last month?

Did the driver's side of the care look like this?

didn't notice the fancy mirror, but pretty sure that's the mule that was pulling the cart and it's definitely the wizard that was behind the curtain (enough metaphors yet?)

And you were hauling ass and having fun at the same time Bobby, so I know you can do at least 2 things at once. The HP2 was beautiful and authoritative in exhaust note and it disappeared within a matter of moments but I was barely running 75 mind you. Great to see the bike on the move and I thought at once that it was either your or someone from the shop.

Its easy to see Bobby why they are so fun in traffic because the flickeyness of lane change and power to spare all conspire to make one fast road bike.

Had a GREAT time in the mountains but was there with my best friend to work on some drawings and paintings. I spent the whole time working on one 102 mile TT route, its condition, various roads, connectors, danger spots, possible patrolled areas, open up areas, hidden danger areas and the like.

Can't wait to finish the drawing. Its entitled "The Bear Hair Trail 100 Mile TT for Open Road Motorcycles" I ran it 6 or 7 times before I had my lowest ET. I was able to average just over 47 mph for the 102 mile run..........no stops.....except at signs of course.

I am learning a lot about the new HP2 Bobby and more than anything else simply never thought I would ever ride a BMW twin with that much power.............and the ability to get it on the ground. The R11S, however, is much better suited for the purpose of road exploring and long rides which is what I did most of this last week. Next time, (Memorial Day) I will be up there on the new RV4 HP2 Sport.

Wonderful to see you on such a fine example........if only for a moment.......I didn't even know a dirt bike could run that fast.........and she was just purrring along.

You didn't answer the question, Jim. And OBTW, I thought I saw you on Wolf Pen Gap Saturday but you said you were leaving Saturday so I let you go. You? About supper time?

Absolutely Bob! and not only that................I found TWO nice houses that I thought would be very nice, and talked to a broker about finding a place for you. I was on Wolf Pen all week including Saturday in mid day and later toward evening. Straight Black R11S, no tank or side bags. Found some very difficult roads to go fast on and some with very tricky pavement. Put together a TT that includes some of the stuff we did together last year plus some more obscure connector routes (Hicks Gap Rd, Paradise Valley Rd, Damascus Church Rd, Murkey Gap Rd, Trackrock Gap, ect) and ran it over and over till I could sort out the dangerous spots that I can make note of on the drawing. Ran into heavy enforcement on the north end of 60 and on the east end of Wolf Pen after the accident (UJM overcook, tangle with another) last Sunday.

Can't believe we missed you..........I wanted to show you some good pieces at low prices. I won't even ask how the R12S is running.....................I ran into one yesterday in Vogel on 129..........I knew the road better............but he had the pull.......and a lot of it. Didn't pass him, but he waved me by as we approached Turners Crossroads. This Fall??
