Congratulations Nate Kern
for clinching the ASRA Thunderbike championship for 2008. He's the only non Buell rider to win the Pro Thunder title. Great job, Nate.

THANK YOU all very much for the consistant support and enthusiasm! There are so many great people involved and for sure we ran up front because of that aspect!
The 4lbs. per HP ratio that the National ASRA Pro Thunderbike series offers is a sure bet on ultra close racing. Where the competition maybe stronger in certain parts of tracks, we are strongeron the other sections. As a racer in this very competitive class, the sections we roll very fast through, high speed corners where we are very stable, we make up ground. In the tight stuff we push our Boxers following or knowing they are on our heals and leanr more about how to race the Boxer. All in all its has been a season where I have come to this conclusion: When you one is in a comfort zone, they are at their weakest. When uncomfortable, you are at youre strongest. Driving every mile this 2008 season unloading and loading mostly on my own, has made me stronger and faster on the same equipment as 2007. What has given me an average of 1.3 seconds faster at every track I raced in 2008, is the mindset that I am not driving all these miles to finish 2nd! With that attitude, regardless of how tired I may be, here is just another level of focus found. The Natl. Championship is the BMW motorcycle owners chamiponship. Having a certified tech at 2 race weekends, then finishing the 11 remaining race weekends with BMW riders from all over as my wrenches at the track.... just awesome! Wheels, fuel, lap times, notes were all done by BMW motorcycle racing fans and spectators. They put themselves as well as me on the podium all season. Just a very mutual feeling of how the experience is shared while it is here. Dealers, clubs, and riders have so much ownership of this. BMW MC's of Atlanta, Morton's BMW MC's, and Engle Motors understand the value of relationships and offering BMW riders mor ethan just a lounge area to rest in at the shop, but a pit area for them to have fun and learn. San Diego BMW's trackday was awesome, thank you Ralf! Kansas City BMW Riders and Engles Trackday at Heartland Park this Sept. will be great! Long Beach BMW's coming up as is the Northeast Florida BMW riders day at Jennings in Nov. See you there and we are gonns have some fun! N8! |

lol, Ralf you know me, a bit nervous about the screwy dyno read outs and how much they fluctuate! SO, we added every diving weight for the 4lbs. per HP ratio and came in at the end of the race at 450.1 svelt lbs!!!!!
When dynoed we were way over weight for what measured power afforded us. Could feel it lap after lap how heavy the bike is compared to the 420lbs we are without it.... ![]() N8! |
