Was this someone on this list??

Today, I was on a solo ride up HWY 39 [So. Cal], across the East Fork Bridge and back to Cattle Canyon. On my way back I passed a LEO from the USFS who had a couple bikes pulled over. As I passed, I noticed one of the bikes was a boxer and didn't have a long enough look to see if it was an R1100S or an R1200S. It was black though. Was this someone on this list?

Haha! Yes!!!

It was me (R1200S) and my riding buddy on a R1200ST. We had just passed the populated area and I was looking for a speed limit sign when he went by us. I would estimate I was at 45+ but he said I was at 60+ (no Fuc#$% way). I guess he wasn't sure about it so after I appologized profusely and explained that we weren't racing around he said he would just give us a warning. He was forest service LEO and later that day we saw him at the quickmart at the bottom. He gave us some more stink-eye but that was all.

Darn good thing - Ive got two tickets on my record and I just did traffic school for a third in the last 2 years. We realyl were trying to keep it to only 5 over but East Fork and San Gabrial canyon have ridiculously low speed limits (35-40 on a road built for 55+)

It was very crowded on the east fork side today, however, so we would have kept it down regardless.

I saw your R1100S and even remarked on it to my buddy when we were stopped for the po-po.

HWY 39 used to have 50 or 55 mph signs. One really has to watch out though on the GMR. I once came across a missing 50-60 foot section of road. Just a big drop off to a looooong way down. It's still a fun road to ride. Glad he didn't cite you.
Yours is the first R1200S I have seen on that road. The only R1100S is one my friend has and of course, my own.
Cheers

Do we have a sightings thread? I saw a beautiful checker board mandarin orange with laser cans, nice CF hugger... parked on Main St this evening in Seal Beach. 33k on the clock yet the bike was immaculate. Anyone here?

i signed the paperwork so i really can't say.

but it involved a small dog, a roto-tiller, a few plastic bags, some fertilizer and a lunatic woman down the street who said jesus spoke to her through the microwave.
