As near as I can figure, the membership of Pelicanparts.com and Boxertrix.com, plus three guys without computers, represents the entire sales history for the R1200S.
![]() Clearly BMW is trying to attract a new cohort of riders for the next generation. Fine. I hope it works so they can keep making boxer parts for as long as I ride my bike. Would I buy one? Yes. It's a BMW with ABS and I need my external validation as much as the next poser. ![]() Too bad about the chain (oily, messy, thing). Does it have heated grips? Probably fits me better than a Ducati 1198S or perhaps an MV Augusta F4. And it comes with ABS... very important... Will I buy one soon? Ah, there's the rub. We have a little economic downturn to get through and I suspect BMW will not be making one of these available in my neck of the woods until 2010 or later. No point in stocking the shelves if potential buyers are counting quarters. Sadly I missed the local demo day and thereby missed the chance to ride one. It was all carbon-fibery and everything. Still lovin' my R1200S - even if it is a bit "pipe and slippers" in comparison. ![]() Ian
