Continental motorcycle ABS

The company Continental, who developed the latest BMW ABS system, presented their latest motorcycle ABS system this week.
Some info (only in German for now) http://www.atzonline.de/index.php;do=show/site=a4e/sid=701097988499d32edd7cb8785125625/alloc=1/id=9218
The system components weigh 1.2kg! Aprilia will use it first but for sure we will see a similar system on the S1000RR. If it has the intelligence on the Honda system (which we don't know yet) but the weight of 1.2kg then it must be a very good system and there is no reason to not choose ABS any more

I still prefer the Honda solution, where in case of any failure the entire ABS circuitry and plumbing is not between the brake lever and the pistons.

As far as weight, only professional racers and idiots care in my opinion. NOFI to anyone here. But the weight of ABS is such that it is more rewarding for Joe Blow to go to gym.

Ahem... Gijs... when I took the whole ABS show out of the 11S, I NOTICED! It's a LOT of weight and it is fairly high up...

Well

Indeed my vote goes to C-ABS > Honda the good old way (light years ahead of the game).

PS: I'm not a racer (alas) thus a few kilos means nothing to me

11S ABS is a more than 10 year old design. That means it might as well be prehistoric. Any modern design today is smaller and lighter.
