HP2S Hugger Not Comng
Had the carbon fiber hugger on order for over 6 weeks, notified A & S, wth is the damn thing? Oooooops, better e-mail Deutschland, see what's happening? Carbon fiber problems, no foreseeable date of product ever getting here, sounds like it ain't gonna happen cuz not enough bikes ordered/sold, etc.

http://shift-tech-carbon.com/ Click the blinking "enter Shift-tech shop" and then choose BMW on the left.
I have had mine since April. If you give Guido a call and let him know you are a member of the Speedzilla Forums (if you are not, just join) you will get 10% off, and free shipping. Actually, I am on the second hugger from Shift-tech (made by Ilmberger in Germany) as the first, made for the R1200S, was way too close to the tire. The new one is designed for our bike and is a perfect fit. Last edited by snakepilot; 06-01-2009 at 04:05 AM.. |

I really don't care about the carbon fiber model, just would like ANY hugger to keep the crap off of that gorgeous Ohlin. Wonder if anyone has one?

I think this question has been asked before, but what is different on the HP2S? I have the 6" rear wheel with a 190/50 PPCT2 on the rear, and I have had no problems in thousands of miles.

As importantly, seems the Ilmberger plant just busy with other stuff and HP2Sport being delayed. Heck, I'm far from cheap but I really want the hugger for its functionality not its glitz. I con't need a carbon fiber hugger and would gladly take a plain hugger, but guess that's all [cf] I can get?

shreddr,
I have the very same tire as you on my HP2S. All I can say is that the R1200S hugger I tried had only 2mm of clearance at the 10 and 2 o'clock positions. Waaay closer than I am willing to run with. The new one, which is made specifically for my bike, is a perfect fit. Correction: mine is 190/55 profile (stock size for the bike) That may be enough to compromise the clearance.
