i didn't mean you, and you aren't a sales target for those leftover HP2S's, unless of course you want a parts bike. there has been plenty of SKRR speculation in here, I guess time will tell how many purchase intenders, become purchasers!

I would guess a bike with 193HP is generating a TON of heat!

Shreddr, I'll give you another clue on heat related issues that show what you now see is my biggest issue with the K1300S and the S1000RR. You may notice in my signature, I had an F800S before the R1200S. That said, it should be no surprise I am a longtime member of the f800riders.org forum, also.

On that forum, the ST owners all complain about heat. We S owners ragged on them to death, as we never had the problem. The whole differences in the S/ST versions of the F800 bike is handle bar set (S is lower), lower fairing (ST's is much lower), and whether your bike has a centerstand (ST does, S it can be added) or a luggage rack (S has rear handles instead). That lower fairing is deadly in heat and you could not have given it to me.

I was there today and the S1000RR underwhelmed me. I thought the HP2S next to it looked way cooler and the Ducatis nearby even more so. I heard from our local indep. wrench last week that one of his customers just picked up an HP2S for around $12k. I'd need to confirm that with another source before believing it. But that seems like a much cooler bike to me and their prices are falling like rocks. Not sure if the one in Scottsdale is the one they've had there forever, or if they've sold a few and gotten more.

You'd do better to take it to the worst place in town and leave it overnight with the key in it. We all know that it's the cf that drives the price up on the HPS.

Rick, in its basic S1000RR cinfiguration, the bike is just another high powered liter bike. Nothing more, nothing less. It's the new that grabs most IMO. The 500 unit pre-sold group with be another soft entry into the USA market. They will have to put them here in larger quantities if it is to become the proposed objective of 50% of USA BMW Motorrad sales in the near term.

My thoughts exactly, they definitely left too much white on top!
And I also think the exhaust looks a little odd..... kindof reminds me of an old Kawi LTD454

i heard something similar from a reputable source, although it may have been one of those suspect bikes with intermittant problems, and no warranty

A buy-back bike would make a good parts whore, sans electronics.
