I don't get what they were thinking not carrying the red/blue back over the tail section as on the WSBK machine. That pure white tail really looks like crap.
Acid green all the way. Drop a tab and hang on!

I'm going to their open house event tomorrow. I wonder if they'll be allowing demo rides.

What time you going Rick? I am heading there as early as I can get up. No rides on the S1000RR according to mailer, but a K1300S is fair game.

I've already demo'ed the K1300S. I'm pondering another GS, maybe GSA. I don't know what time yet. What time do you think you'll be there? I live about 25 min. away from the dealer.

Their website blows. All it says is it's an all day event. I'll try to get there before noon. If you see a black R12S, that's probably me. I've never seen another R12S in the area.

so who's bike is that? the dealers couldn't order floor models right? I must admit the RWB color scheme looks better than I thought it would. i hope someone goes there with a decent camera.

The S100RR is much smaller than one thinks it is looking at a photo. And the one in the photo is such a pre-production unit, pieces on it were loose and misplaced. I said out loud how I would not want to test ride that one and leave half of it in the street, and all the Scottsdale BMW people standing with me there, laughed in agreement.

But we all agreed, a production unit very much might be worth buying. Me, I am in no rush to trade, having ridden a K1300S for nearly an hour. The K was OK, but I still like the R1200S better. Me thinks riding the S100RR, I'd feel the same.

Those water-cooled in-line engine bikes radiate so much heat on a 100+ degree day, and the K was blazing hot to sit on. I think an S1000RR would be too hot to sit on, on a hot day, as well.

Riding my R home, I kept thanking it, for not being too hot to sit on, even if the grips were (just a little) from sitting in the sun for a few hours before then.

YMMV.

Atlanta BMW has a 2009 non-ABS HP2S that's still sitting on the floor. They are ready to deal! Tell them you heard it from Bubba. It #137

A source tells me there are between 23-26 units in dealers and warehouses available for sale.

You are so cute, shreddr (typing this as I just finished SALTY snack and 4 16 oz. glasses of seltzer water to prevent heat stroke symptoms from getting worse). It was 95 going up to 106 where I spent from 7 to 2 out there.

No, btw, I was not kidding about that hot engine problem. I loved the assisted shift on the K, but that heat was over the top, and left a burn patch on my inside right calf. I can see the S doing the same, thank you.

given all the drooling over the SKRR, and the +$10,000 price difference and -60 HP difference, they better be making some deep cuts or they will sit there until the factory calls them home.

I'm not drooling over the S1000RR, Shreddr. To me it's another liter bike. Only this one has a roundel. But, I'm not the fish they are trying to catch. The HPS is a fun bike. I'd prefer a Ducati 900 SS/SP to play in the street as opposed to the S1000RR.

for the people that know me, cute isnt a word that is often chosen, but I will let you slide on that one. good to know about the heat issue, its something I never really thinking about on the R12S, it's just not a problem. i had a guy at a gas station ask me if it was hot with those jugs in front of my legs, i told him i never noticed any heat off them. seems like once you get the cylinders behind a fairing, whether its an L twin or I4 the heat builds up quick. I would guess a bike with 193HP is generating a TON of heat!
