Good for you. I am really hoping the S1000RR puts a sock in all the nay sayers out there. I have a friend who hates anything that has BMW logo on it, he rides a R1 and if the beemer lives up to it's #'s it sure would shut hime. Best of luck with it.

Good one mate!
Let us know how you like the bike and also compare with other sports you may have had.
Let us know how the dealer treats you also!

Good for you, I am getting one for my 67th birthday. In fact I got my proposed mfg date today in December, my dealer now has 9 or 10 hard deposits.

Mine will be Thunder Grey matalic (black),ABS, DTC, gear shift assist as well.

I think it is the most elegant color.

Dude, congratulations! I'm both envious and simply happy for you. Maybe someday I can step up to an HP2S or an S1000RR like yours!

Enjoy!

I'm envious of three things

1) That's going to be an awesome ride
2) You have the will power to wait for an ordered bike. I'm far too impatient.
3) You'll probably be able to actually ride it. My old bones are done with sport bikes.

I hope you have HUGE fun on that thing.

here's my prediction Naked: when a floor model SKRR is at your local dealer, your R12R will be rapidly traded.

I just succumbed to rampant motolust and ordered one.

Besides here, where are discriminating S1000RR waiters hanging out? I need someplace to read about problems and develop a healthy sense of paranoia about owning a 1st year new BMW design.

+1 Mark. I've owned my last first year BMW. Unless the used bike market looks attractive in a year.

although I envy your purchase decision Mark, I have come to the conclusion that owning that bike will just be a world of trouble for me. That bike is just begging to be SPED! even more so than my tricked out R12S. I can torque around on the S if I feel like it and groove on the sound and pull, but that SKRR is only gonna be happy humming, and the triple digits will be coming on FAST!!

post your first ride review here though!

It's a RWB model (I have my S painted in the Boxercup scheme so I really had no choice here - they just would look too good together) with ABS/DTC. I skipped the gearshift assist and alarm.

I fancy myself as a competent and well-trained sport rider, but I suffer no illusions about this bike - its capabilities are likely going to be so far out there, I can't imagine I'll push it anywhere near its limits. I'm going to admire its potential more than realize it and try to stay a stranger to the ER. If this bike is anything like the R1 I used to own, I suspect I'll remain faster on my S.
