...speakin' of Sergio's computers...I just bit on a new one. Cyber Monday and all.

AZ-Twin 12-01-2009 01:33 PM

Today is Tuesday Rapid.

The paparazzi wasn't the problem... little bugs though are. I'm down and out with a stubborn cold... woke up two days ago with a sore throat and I've been a mess ever since. This fever isn't helping, maybe I can induce some hallucinations. ;) As for walking down the street, I can barely make it to the can. :p

Rapid, I saw those ohllies too but my brain is fried right now (see above).

Saint, you drive a hard bargain, I'll contact you via PM.

Rob, good eye. I've had that PC for years now... I can't get myself to throw it out. Everything works on it too, PIII 450 w/ 256mb of ram and either an 8 or 12gb HD. Seems a shame to just toss it but I don't know who to give it to.

It would get more use this way though...

Rapid, can your new PC do that?!?!? :p

You have been a mess ever since I have known you...

SergioK 12-01-2009 02:13 PM

You sound like my teacher in elementary school. At least i'm consistent.

Rapid Dog 12-01-2009 02:36 PM

...uh, yeah , I meant I bit yesterday...so to speak. And yes, supposedly it will really turn and burn.
*sizzle*

bingo 12-01-2009 05:21 PM

Great color my friend . . . Looks like you are keeping the memory of a very cool S alive.

It occurs to me that I beat up AndrewA with a similar deal a while back. Always happy to help spread the GS disease - but do get well soon, Sergio!

Somehow I ended up managing my company's computer systems. Since it is against policy to spend money on anything, I was keeping those old ATs alive with salvage parts for years. Finally got rid of them (and all of the spare parts) for free to a company that recycles them - presumably to 3rd world countries. I'm sure such companies exist where you are.

Rapid Dog 12-02-2009 08:41 AM

Serg, FYI, there's also an Ohllies Group Buy goin' down at ADV.
consider the Wilbers though, from Ted Porter...

SergioK 12-02-2009 09:05 AM

I'll probably get new springs in umm... spring. ;)

bradzdotcom 12-02-2009 11:46 AM

there's lots of good things you can use old computers for.

Hey Sergio

I feel your pain, I've been down with the mung for over 2 weeks myself, finally back to 90% now. I have a cut down stock shield leftover, I used in hot weather you are welcome to, whenever we connect. Sorry I never got to that bike up here, I was starting to get sick about then. Glad you got one and are becoming acustomed to it. The lack of Ohlins didn't seem to affect me a bit. oh, and I assume Ralph has made you aware, those factory bags expang-the left one doubles in size, you do know that , right?? I found them to be far superior to the bags on my K bike (similar to the ones youa re used to) and possibly the best luggage I ever had on a bike. enjoy it, wish I could ride.............

signit98 12-02-2009 07:56 PM

I share your sentiment with the "lack of Öhlins", Scooter... does not seem to bother me much... not even with shocks that have a 16.5K mile road trip fully loaded on them...

I figure I am just used to the bike now and don't want to mess with that ;)

Define 'work'. My new Win7 install prefers 50 GB just for the OS ...

Congrats on the new paint mixer, Sergio. I do hope you treat this better than your previous gray beemer. Good-looking stuff doesn't doesn't stay that way for long with you ...

signit98 12-04-2009 08:17 PM

Ouch, that hurt, Roger!

Cruel, but fair.

I really liked Bingo's 11.:(

How are ya, Ralfie? SmileWavy

SergioK 12-04-2009 10:07 PM

Well, after being 'chastised' for putting 30k miles on it in less than two years, I had to remind the Bingo that 'his old bike' was actually being used. http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/ima...ies/icon22.gif I treated the bike just fine and in fact it got regular servicing on a systematic basis. But, if I had wanted it to stay a garage queen, I would have left it parked in the garage instead of using it. Same as the HP2 Sport... it is by no stretch of the imagination a garage queen. With that said...

Nothing manmade will ever remain pristine and I know unequivocally that I want to fully use and enjoy the motorcycles I buy and I don't buy them so I can look at them. But I digress, if you liked his old bike that much, ya shoulda bought it so you could look at it in your garage. :p

signit98 12-04-2009 10:09 PM

Doin' GREAT, Roger... lots of dirt riding lately... not so much on the street. I have a couple of DP bikes if you want to come over with no "baggage"...

Yeah, the 11S was a good and pretty bike... but the sand just viciously attacked him...

I was only stirring you up, Darth Sergio. Just wish you hadn't tried to ride your Razalon FC-20 upside down quite so soon.

I'll tell her you called her that.

THEN you'll be sorry.

Me too! Though the more I ride this GS the more I like it... I dare not say more than my S, but I think it may come to that.

Lesson learned though, I'm never running point with only 5 hours of sleep under my belt. I should have said something earlier in the day. I had the physical strength but apparently my CPU was a bit underpowered that day and the bike paid the price for it. I'm fortunate I 'slid' away scot free. ;)

I watched quite a number of you guys switch to GSs now, and I have yet to hear anyone get all misty about the lack of performance. The goat trails beckon ...

SergioK 12-05-2009 08:09 AM

Actually, it has more power and that power comes on much earlier. It leads to better 'driveability' thus in daily driving it's far superior than old Oilhead boxer 11S. There, I said it.

The only thing that really kept me from staying with you on the goat trail was the fact that my suspension completely bottomed out, every time I landed... power wise, it would have not been an issue...

But I was dragging hard parts on the UNDERSIDE of the bike... massively. Granted, those shocks had just seen a few miles fully loaded over - at times - rather odd terrain.. but I doubt they are even close to half as good as your suspension when new...

bingo 12-05-2009 11:48 AM

Thank you Roger, that was very kind of you.

Oh yea, did Sergio say garage queen? He's joking right? Gotta know if he's joking before I say any further. :)
