Beware what you ask for because you might just get it!
It's easy to ask for a sticky...

But not so easy to get it removed!

Now that Sergio's Sticky is in place and farkelization is commencing, we simply need to change the name of the forum to:
BMW R1100S / R1200S / R1200GS Tech Forum!

What about the thousands... err... hundreds.... err dozens(?) of HP2 Sport owners?

Actually, since I have a GS and a Sport, can we just rename the place (for a day at least), to the Pelican Parts GS/HP2S forum? Heck, since I'm asking that much, let's just name it Sergio's backyard.

The more I ride it the more I like it.

It's a different experience on the GS, especially since it has a tall Cee Bailey's windscreen. I get no direct airflow except for on my arms. The wind clears the top of my helmet. I will most definitely buy a shorty Aeroflow screen for the summer months. I find it MUCH easier to ride, especially with the 'power steering'. The bars are so wide I'm dumbfounded by the ease of use. I don't like the vario cases though... functional for the city but the left side bag is a joke. I think if I had the top case it would be a different matter.

I'm contemplating some Micatech bags... maybe for Christmas... and since Orthodox Christians celebrate the arrival of the three kings on the 6th of January, maybe I'll get Ohlins on that date too.

What I miss about my 11S... the exhaust tone. The Laser with Ypipe left me intoxicated with aural pleasure! The brakes... the wavy rotors would bite like a ravaged dog! The Dymag CF rims... bliss... oh yeah!!! Oh, and the Ohlins. A couple car buddies saw my transition from the 11S to the 12GS and when one of them saw the bike he said: "Dude, that thing is UGLY. If I were you, I'd crash it on purpose the next time you crash."

Love my Givi Maxxi topcase, btw. I only use the side cases (Jesses) for touring now.

I don't know what it is... but I just can't stand the sight of a Givi case. I find it absolutely abhorrent. I know functionality rules over form, but ugh...

In most cases I would agree wholeheartedly with you. In this case it becomes the mantra (and the continued attraction) of my GS.

I'm going to stick this in here just because I can!

I've been cooking a turkey on Thanksgiving for the past several years and I thought I'd share the ever so simple process.

I start with a small 12lbs to 14lbs free range bird, a couple apples, an orange, a pear or two, a couple onions and a stalk of celery. Salt, pepper, Colman's mustard powder and some white wine.

First, chop up the fruits and veggies:

I don't chop up the orange just yet. This time around I had some unripened persimmons so I added them to the batch as well. (one pear, and two small persimmons).

Clean up the bird, really all I do is wash it down.

Get a large oven bag and lace the inside with a tablespoon or two of flour. Place bag inside a potroast pan of some sort. Layer the bottom of the bag with approx 1/4 of the mixture of chopped fruit and veggies then place the bird on top of the mixture.

Now, stuff the inside of the bird with the rest of the mixture. There should be leftover veggies and fruit which you then spread around the bird.

Wash the orange and zest the entire thing. Spread the orange zest over the bird's skin along with the mustard powder, salt and pepper.

Then, slice up the orange into very thin slices as such:

Oh, I forgot that you have to open the bottle of wine just before you start slicing. Proceed with small sips of wine throughout the entire preparation process.

Place the slices of orange on top of the bird.

Pour in about two cups of wine, seal the bag, then poke a couple holes in it.

Place in over at 350F for about 3-4 hours depending on the size of the bird.

I haven't started to make the gravy yet and I'll show ya what I do with that (the neck, liver, etc get used for the gravy).

I tried to fight her off but man, she's one tough woman! I think her time in the slammer honed her into this menacing tyrant. Next time she barges into my kitchen like that, I'll pick up the phone and ring you for suggestions (I've put your # on speed dial). Thanks Brad!

That turkey will fit in the top case of the GS once you get one. Then you can do up your turkey and take it to the relatives on your GS rather than inviting them over. This has the advantage of being able to leave when the conversation gets too boring.

Congrats on the new ride. They are a blast.

Sergio,

Now would be a good time for you to reflect on your time at the top. How did this sticky affect you life? Was the attention too much for you? What about the paparazzi, they were annoying, but the attention was nice, was it not? Now that it has ended is life different? Can you walk down the street again without being mobbed by fans wanting autographs?

Good Questions all and what the Paparazzi really want to know is:

Have you crashed your black Escalade into any good Fire Hydrants & Trees lately because of this?

Sergio,

I like this pic, mostly because of the two PCs in the Garage. The one on the right isn't even an ATX chassis, it is an old AT. I thought I was the only one that had that crap laying around.
