Hornig License Plate Bracket R1100S

I know Shred has one on his R12S but I'm looking for a picture of one mounted on an R11S - preferably with plate attached. Does anyone own one? Do the holes line up with US states plates?

I just got one for about half-price from my dealer on a sale table but I'm just not sure it's gonna look better than my current setup. For one thing, I spent a lot of time making trim plates for my turn signals. Another thing is I have Hyperlites installed. Convince me to install or sell it off

US Distributor:
Eurotech Motorsports Brand Search

My current setup:
99 1100S license bracket

The cost as a % of the value of the bike is phenomenal. P.T. Barnum was right.

The resale market of this bike has little impact on it's personal value.

I don't see how you can get any cleaner than your current set-up. Nice work.

The Hornig mount is so cool that it integrates these tiny aluminum housed turn signals but again, here's my current setup:
replacement rear turn signals

Should this thread just be moved over to "For Sale"? I hate to take it back if anyone wanted it. With the current exchange it's $472 from Eurotech.

Edit: going over to For Sale

You did a nice job but it looks a little industrial, effective but not especially pleasing to the eye.
If you enjoy your bike like I enjoy mine, stop worrying about it and install the nicer piece.
You got a decent price on it - use it.
It will look great installed on your bike.

I'd agree it looks industrial. I'm not a big fan of the angle aluminum but it made a nice mount for the Hyperlites. The only thing causing pause to installing the Hornig bracket is the integrated signals. It looks great on the R12S but I think it will look out of place on the R11S. Wish I could make them the flashing lights - hmmmm.

Instead of Hyperlites - if I could make those little signals the flashing brake lights.

Probably not a good idea and the wrong color.

So no one spend the $$ on one of these before so I can get a shot of the bike with it installed. Side view so I can see the angle and back view with signals removed?

Rear end collision is the least likely motorcycle accident.
Just install the unit - it will look great.
If it does on the shredmobile, it will look good on the 1100S.

I hope you're kidding, we've had a few "vehicle rear ending motorcycle(s)" accidents around here.
I myself have been bumped at a stoplight.

I see it as the least avoidable of all accidents.

Nope.
According to NHTSA:

40% of all MC accidents occur while motorcycle rider was going straight and another vehicle turned left in front of the MC.
27% MC going straight and oncoming vehicle attempted a pass.
78% of all MC accidents occur from the front.
5% of all MC in accidents were struck in the rear.

We must have a bunch of ghey drivers in Arizona then.

So....I'm the only one on the forum that is in possession of this bling? Wow, then I really should keep it.

Installed the bracket this morning and it's really cool but doesn't look right without installing the turn signals as well. I don't need 4 rear turn signals on my bike.

It'd be great for you stealthy guys that run without bags and want to eliminate the large rear signals.

Going up over on the For Sale page for $200 shipped to CONUS.

Ok, I couldn't stop messing with it

I think it looks pretty good. Certainly less "home depot" than my last bracket. I'll save the cool turn signals that came with it for another bike.

Garrett,

I was wondering where did you get these nice golden brake lines on your bike?

Also, I noticed that quite a few people have this nice and shiny Olin shocks on the rear. Do you like them? Are they really so much better than the stock shocks? What kind of pricing are we talking about to replace the Rear shock? Both shocks?

Beautiful bike that you have.

Thanks.

Yves

The brake lines are Speigler.

The Ohlins are wonderful (although I haven't ridden an S without them) and there is a set on the For Sale page if you are interested. I think the rear is $1200 USD and the front just under $1000 new.

Wouldn't you know the dent in my rear wheel would show up in the photo? Time for a 5.5"
