Custom CNC Billet Torque Arm

on 4/24/02 I am down to 4 Torque Arms left & not sure when I will get around to make any more (Workload is getting Busy)

I have Currently 7 Torque Arms available in either 1/4" or 3/8" or 1/2" Shorter than Stock. for the R1100S. Quite a few members have bought from me & so far no complaints. (at least none that I have heard) You can View them & get more info on my web page www.wispr.net (Click on the Bmw TA project)

Hi Brian,

Those torque arms look sweeeeet. How much does the 1/4" shorter version raise the bike? I have no immediate plans to change my shocks from the standard non-sport versions and like using my centerstand.

Any comments on potential problems that could come out of shortening the wheelbase without adding the sport susp?

imr the 1/4" version won't raise your S enough to limit use of your centerstand. I've got the 1/2" shorter version on mine and I'm still able to get the rear wheel off the ground. Shouldn't be a concern with the 1/4" regardless of the tire.

Essentially you're increasing the fork angle a very small amount by raising the rear of your steed up slightly. I makes the bike turnin a little quicker without compromising the stability. It's like dropping the forks a few mm's on a Jap bike. Same effect.

I haven't had any ill effects or problems with my S since installing the BK TA, that was 20,000 miles ago.

I too have nothing but good things to say about Brian's torque arm. Thanks Brian!!! I can say from personal experience that the 1/4" shorter arm will cause no problem with stock centerstand use. In fact, the bike becomes even more absurdly easy to pop up onto the centerstand.

Any moderate change in length (1/4 to 1/2") should cause no problems in suspension reliability.

I don't mean to clutter this board with gushing praises for BK's work, but my 3/8" minus has been a great mod. Chris and I were glad to be Brian's test bed for his design. Center stand is used when doing maintenance only, but no problems.

Now that I gave you a plug, Brian, send bolts for Chris and me. Is that the Gap I hear calling.

My 3/8" shorter TA from Brian is one of the best mods I have made. I can still use the center stand, though I only do so for storage. Handling is much better, looks much better, and no ill effects.
