I was assured today the deal with yamaha was already done, the hassle?? who's is going to pay, either a German IT company or CocaCola, the problem being Mr Rossi gets a lot, sorry i mean a LOT of money from Monster and that maybe a complication, but things within the paddock are so complicated anything could happen.

I was told Ducati sales in the US are up by 270% and hence why they've signed Hayden again.

Signit98, if the twoo Ducatis were the same bike you would make your point. Buuuuutttt, they are not. Rossi and Hayden are riding bikes that only have the same name.

Funny thing that, Sergio...

The leading reason for VW buying Ducati was their ability to build light and powerful engines with a relatively high reliability factor. I can only imagine how they must feel now, seeing how the Panigale has a ton of problems with bombing engines all the while not being competitive... and the MotoGP bike not exactly being a front runner in terms of power either.

Look at it this way, after extensive testing with the Panigale race bike, Checca has asked Kawasaki for a ride...

So, this can go either way... the mothership can come in a "lend a hand" and look at it for another two or three years... or they can pull the plug after next season, because cost/benefit of MotoGP and WSBK racing does not pan out.

I am thinking that they have about 800 million reasons to continue for a while, trying to right this ship again.... if they pull out of both competition series, sales will likely drop significantly.

Germans don't give up easily.

Looking back, the only time the ducati was competitive over the past 8 or so years, was when Stoner rode it... must have been the bike!

And I am sure that Nicky has the better bike, because he is the (presumably) lesser skilled rider who gets paid considerably less, right?

Makes perfect sense...

Chris, if you see how popular Hayden is in the US (and for good reasons) you'd see that it would have been a dumb move of them, not to resign him... when he shows up anywhere, people flock. He is funny, nice and easily approachable. A good ambassador for any brand!

At this point, he rides the bike better as well... but as we just found out, he has the better bike.

Yeah, it does make perfect sense/cents when you think about who was hired to develop the litre bike for Ducati. Clue: pick the one that developed the Yami.

...brilliant!

So, your logic is to give Rossi the crappy bike so he works harder on making it better? Shouldn't be a problem, seeing how he is not competitive at all and bad results don't phase him.

I am glad that at least someone is paying attention... I would have never thought about it that way.

Well thats were it gets complicated,I wouldn't use the word dumb, wrong word wrong context, but if the object of the excercise is selling bikes then he's def the right man,but if it's getting Ducati on the podium, then I don't beleave he is,too old with too much money in bank to go sticking his neck out,and that may well have to be done!!!.

Well, the only guy who could ride that bike competitively is retiring by the end of the season...

Once again, you neglect to point out the fact that the Ducati/Stoner package was before the tire choice was handicapped. Not apples to apples. Stoner had his problems with the Ducati after Bridgestone became the sole supplier to all the teams.

He had a front end problem with the Ducati (one that brought him down, even after he signed with Honda, as some may remember)... a problem that continues to plague Ducati at times. Yet, he still kept winning on a bike that most other riders deemed unrideable...

What he can do with Bridgestone (or any other tire) he has shown plenty... I still think that he is the best rider in the paddock these days. Shame to see him retire.

2007- Stoner wins on custom Bridgestones
2008- Rossi wins w/ Yami he has helped develop
2009- Rossi wins w/ Yami he has continued to develop
2010- Lorezo wins on the Yami that he inherited from Rossi's team (Rossi leaves for the challenge that Stoner couldn't fix
2011- Stoner wins on the Honda that Dani developed
2012- Stoner retires, Spies retires. Rossi gets a first class ride back and Ducati goes back to the drawing board. Oh yeah, Lorenzo wins on the Yami that Rossi developed.

Are you seeing the big picture, Signit98?

Enough of this crap, I've got some miles to run.

I do, but you fail to... the big picture is that Stoner rode a crappy bike to wins... while he may not have ridden it to multiple championships (which sees to be the only measure of success for you), he did things with that bike, no one else could.

Run you miles... I hope you are better at than than you are at analyzing the "big picture"

Just as a little side not... if Stoner "inherited the bike Dani developed"... shouldn't Dani be the faster one, being that he has more intimate knowledge of the bike? And shouldn't Stoner have been slowed by a learning curve?

That wooshing sound you just heard was the big picture... rushing right over your head.

Please don't try to blow smoke up my ass and tell me that Stoner developed the liter bike in the off season. Dani, got hurt if my memory serves me. I'm not discounting Stoner's talent; but, it's not as simplistic as your commentary. The fact remains that Rossi won two championship following Stoner's coming out party and you along with the rest of the BS artists here think you know whether or not he can do it again. If you do keep posting Jello I'm sure something will stick sooner or later. Maybe the commentators can have you up for a guest appearance at Indy so you can tell the world what holds for the 2013 season. Be sure to get a tape for youtube. Off to work now.

No, he is some 14 year old, off to his first job... cleaning toilets somewhere... I see a career path there.

Don't try to confuse him with facts, I tried it... doesn't work.

...Yamaha is paying Lorenzo 11 million dollars...
...yeah, that makes him clearly the better rider...please.

Lorenzo was a Spanish wanna be hothead not that long ago.
Pedrosa was a Spanish mosca when he came on the GP scene, same-same.
Now I like them both....something about maturity I guess.
...and Stoner, nobody will ever doubt his talent and adaptability.

Valentino matured long ago, and no, he doesn't need to break his neck to make the point that he's dedicated to his job.
Is there any wonder there are rumors?

I don't think VR has lost any talent over the years (getting older). If anything, his talent and ability to push the envelope has increased, but so has everyone else's (Lorenzo, Pedrosa, etc). I have viewed VR's Achilles's heel solely being the bike. I'd imagine that it is hard to ditch a brand when you've got this huge, scratch that, MASSIVE amount of financial gain by sticking around. But, I bet he's itching to secure himself even more firmly in the history books. I've never met a humble racer, EVER.

It is obvious to me that when you can't make a point with facts, you go for personal attacks. This is your MO for anyone who confronts you. I will not plat kindergarten games with another poster.

Back to the debate. Pedrosa and Stoner our very evenly matched if you care to review the QP results. When evenly matched sometimes its a question of who gets a break. Dani is a champion quality rider as are most who get a ride in MotoGP. All I have said is that Rossi still has the skills to be #1 again before he hangs up his helmet and boots. I'm sure that there are many who agree with this position. We can revisit this in the distant future.

Mr. Flatbutt. I only give attitude to those who give it to me first. Signit98 is Prussian if his last name is true. Prussians by nature try to dominate. In my search of his post history, he is quick to go personal of anyone with whom he disagrees. I don't clean toilets for a living; but, if I did, I'd give it a first class job.
